A Million Ways, Ok Go!

I really liked their song "Get Over It" until I got the CD... then I... well,... you know. But they're back and this video is one of the most fun I've seen in a long time. I'm a sucker for a great dance sequence.

Listening to The Rhombus. Think I might lose my dinner.

That's not a cause-and-effect situation... the latter is the effect caused by something I ate at some point today. The former is just what I happening to be listening to at the present time. You should listen to it, too. It's this guy with this website who makes music and has pictures and a blog and... just check it out, okay?

And make sure you give a listen to my favorite of his songs: Vanya, The Rhombus.

Sunday, Bloody Sunday

How appropriate that I'm posting this on a Sunday... but that's just coincidence.

I'm really not into the mash-ups that I'm hearing on what seems like an increasing basis on Indie 103.1. I feel like most of them suck the life out of the original songs they use, rather than use the combination to enhance them. The concept is cool, but the execution is, more often than not, lazy and unimaginative.

This tune however, is an exception to that assessment. Actually, it's not really a mash-up I guess. No wonder. The creative mind behind this version of the U2 hit calls himself RX. He cites his influences as x, k, lsd, and weed. A great influence on the kiddies, no doubt. In his words, the "vocalist" on this cover tune is "The War President." Need I say more?
