Brokeback Nelson
Cowboys are Frequently, Secretly (Fond of Each Other) is the best Valentine's Day release ever! Willie Nelson recorded a cover of the 1995 twanger by Pansy Division late last year, just as the much-hyped Brokeback Mountain was gaining attention.
With Nelson's deadpan delivery of lines like, "What did you think all them saddles and boots was about?" and "Inside every cowboy there's a lady who'd love to slip out," I was never quite certain it was appropriate to laugh. But I did anyway.
